Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Problems with the state

The state just put a tax lien/warrant on my dissolved corporation for back franchise tax. They want $1400 (half being interest and fees). So far the lien is SOLELY in the name of the corporation with no mention of me, and the corporation was a C-type corporation. I've heard that the state will NOT be able to personally pursue me, put a levy on my accounts, or put a lien on me because this was a corporate tax owed by a separate non pass-thru entity. Is this correct or am I in danger of having my accounts levied, and my credit ruined?

By the way, this lien is contrary to the extension I received (which has not arrived yet) and the eventual acknowledgment of dispute letter I received stating that no further action will be taken by them until it's resolved.

Re: Problems with the state

Yes, you are correct. Franchise tax is solely against the corporation and not the individual owner.
