Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

I need some legal advice on a situation my mother is in. My mother was with her partner for 20 years and recently lose him last month to cancer. She was living with him till she was kicked out by his children. I just would like to know is she in title to something for those years like a Commom Wealth Marriage? They purchase things for each other or together for the house. Some of her own items are still in the residence and they don't allow her to enter the home to get them. Thank you for your quick reply.

There is no common law marriage in NM. She thus has not claim to his estate. She might consult a domestic relations attorney to see if she has any sort of "palimony" claim or a similar claim for the investment she has made. She is entitled to the return or her personal property, although it may take a court action to accomplish that according to the facts of your post.
