Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Personal Security Cameras Legal?

My parents and I have personal security cameras around our property that looks over only our property. We also have Signs posted that we have cameras everything is in plain sight. Is this legal to have them as long as they are used for security on your own property? We really don't get along with are neighbors and they seem to have a problem with the cameras. We wanted to know if we are within our legal rights. Thank you for your time.

Re: Personal Security Cameras Legal?

What you describe is perfectly legal as long as the cameras are facing yours or public property and not onto your neighbor's property.
