suing a shipping company

I shipped a parcel with ups and they damaged my tv to the point where the picture tube is damaged.I purchased this tv in 2002 the same yr it was manufactored.now i threw the box out so now they r claiming i will not be reembursed because i threw the box out. But i do have pictures. can i sue them if they refuse to pay ??

Yes. But unless you have proof that UPS shipped it you may have difficulties proving your case. Without the box they can also claim that you packed the TV improperly.
