Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

old credit card debt

I stop making payment/using this credit card since feb.2001. Currently credit card's been charged off since Jan.2002 by the credit grantor but the balance's kept on growing. I know this because I just did a credit check and creditor's been updating/reporting to the credit bureau every month. Does SOL applies to me? can the creditor come after me after such time has been past without any notification from them nor myself to them? I need some help. I opened the account in NY state but now I reside in WA state. WA state's SOL is 6 years. Thank you.

Re: old credit card debt

The statute of limiations is 6 years..but it can run from the date of last payment or the date of the charge off...whichever is later.

Good Luck
