Friend owes me money
it has been 8 months, my friend owes me $5500. i dont have anything on the paper, he says he promises to pay back. what do i do?????

You should send a written demand letter. Send it certified mail.
If the letter does not work, commence an action in small claims court for the money. Although small claims is for $5000, it is cheaper than retaining a lawyer.
