Medical Debt affecting credit rating

I heard that my medical debt will not affect my credit rating so im thinking of not paying it.

What can the collections agency do if i dont pay my medical debt?

The collection agency may retain an attorney that would bring a lawsuit for the debt due and owing. A judgment would adversly effect your credit rating for 20 years.
