Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

A passing

My mom and I have a savings account together. It is the only thing she has. She also, has a few debts, credit cards about 8k. If she passes, what happens to her debt?

Re: A passing

Her debts get paid from any assets/money she has in her Estate (not joint bank accounts). You are otherwise not liable for her debts.

Make sure she doesn't pass leaving a bank account solely in her name or some other asset.
