what happens when a federal prosecutor leaves a case?

Well, you give very few facts here, so I'm going infer a few. Are you saying that the US is still bringing the case, but the particular prosecutor that was on the case is now assigned elsewhere or left government service? In that case, the US Attorney's office will appoint another prosecutor and the case will continue. Discuss this situation with your attorney.
