Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

i am a little nervous

does a non criminal violation show up in a background check in the state of ny, that happened over 10 years ago.

The honest truth is it's a slightly tricky answer. In New York, arrests are never removed from your record, and can not be expunged... So any background search that thoroughly looks into your past will bring this up.

The good news, in almost all situations what really matters is how the case ended and not how it started... By that I mean, what the end result of the case was. In this instance you have plead guilty to a violation, which is on par with a parking or speeding ticket. It will have very minor ramifications if any, in most situations none at all.
