Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

first offense-2nd meancing, harassment & two 3rd assault, meancing, criminal pos

was arrested & having pretrial since 5/20/02 for meancing 2nd degree & harassment, criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree, two assault 3rd degree & meancing. Lastly, attempt assault 3rd degree. How serious are my charges? What will be the worst can happen? having pretrial since 5/20/02 until now. The next trial is on 3/26/03. I've heard that if I don't cause trouble for 6 months the case will be dismissed with no crimal record. Is that true?

Also can I replace the lawyer if the real trial began?

plse help me.

The charges are serious and you could do a few years in jail, if convicted.

The 6-month & dismissal would be an "ACD", which the District Attorney can offer you BUT does not have to offer you.
