Prostitution in New York

Can you be convicted of patronizing a prostitute by filling out web-based forms discussing money or by discussing money in exchange for sexual services online? Can police arrest you if they find your name and personal information in the records of a prostitute?

Re: Prostitution in New York

Maybe. It all depends on where the website declares itself to be based or offer prostitutes. If the offer is

for a prostitue's services located in New York your offer to pay for a prostitue's services could be deemed to have been made in New York or to have sufficient connection to New York.

If you have not been charged don't stay up worrying about it, but I would think that you should respect your own fears and stop visiting the website in question.
