age discrimination

good afternoon i'am a 51 yr old vietnam vet

recently worked for a tempoary job agency

assignment ended the client i worked for was

hiring for position's i was more than qualified

for they hired younger people with not even close

to my expierence i saw the resume's i asked for

the position and was told i was not qualified do i

have recourse and against who temp agency did not

know this condition existed can i file complaint

against the client company thank you for your web

site i really have no idea what to do

Where an employer discriminates against an employee who was placed with that company by a temporary job agency the EEOC has, in the past, taken the position that BOTH the temp agency and the company where the employee works MAY be liable. The EEOC has issued guidence on this issue and if the temp agency truly had no knowledge of this "new" position, there is little reason to believe the temp agency has violated the law. However, if the company did hire a person younger and less qualified than you, knowing that you were interested in the position, you may want to contact a local EEOC office.
