Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

Discrimination

I was recently fired from my job

because I have an eating disorder. I

was wondering, can a person get

fired from a job if they have an

eating disorder? Would that be

considered as discrimination or

something? Also me having an eating

disorder would not be a health

insurance concern for them, because

I did not get health insurance from

them. Any information would be very

helpful.

Re: Discrimination

Your situation would likely be covered, if at all, under the Americans with Disabilities Act but a simple answer, unfortunately, is not possible. Unless someone on the board offers a more sensible suggestion, you should resarch a lawyer who specializes in this area. This website has resources to help you so you should first look under "Disability" under the areas of law section. You may find an attorney who regularly responds. In fact, you should probably simply post your question in that section.
