my son is 19 he is charged with 1192.1. what is the difference between driving while intoxicated,and driving while impaired

Strictly speaking, intoxication is another level of impairment, and a more serious offense. I'm not sure how that helps you, however.

Due to your son being under 21 he is subject to the state-wide "Zero Tolerance" laws. The outcome of his case cannot be determined without further consultation. The fact the he was not charged with 1192-a also requires further review. In which county was he charged?
