Photo Agreement

A band wants to use my picture for their CD cover. We have agreed on a fee, I just need the proper agreement form.

Re: Photo Agreement

Although this is a very simple and standard document you should talk to an attorney to help you draft it. The release needs to be clear as to what rights you're granting. For example, while you may think the photo can only be used on the cover, they may want to include a facsimile in an ad or in a music video. You don't want to enable the band to be able to use the photo for other purposes without your consent and/or additional compensation. This is not time-consuming nor complicated. If you use an attorney, I'd suggest you ensure the fee is a flat one and not based upon an hourly rate. Shop around and find the most favorable rate. Good luck.
