Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I need to know some information on if I have any rights. I lived with a man for 12 years. We have 2 children together and we just bought our second house. We never married. He just tells me a few days ago that I have 30 days to find a place to live with the kids. He then tried to evict us but quickly found out that he couldn't. His name is the only one on the house because he refused to put my name on it. So a day later I came home from work and the house is now on the market to sell. My question--Do we have any rights at all?

not with regard to the house, if you aren't married. You reside there as a tenant, and have all the rights as such but without the benefit of matrimony the courts do not recognize any cohabitation type rights you may think you have. You of course can seek child support for your children in family court.

In regards to the house, it depends if you contributed to the purchase of house. If yes, you might be entitled to claim some of the proceeds from the sale.

And you can claim child support for the kids.
