Friendship with a minor

I have been playing an online adventure game and made friends with several people that I have met on this game. I have gotten to know one friend pretty well- he is a 15 year old boy and I am a 35 year old woman. I have chatted with him online and we have spoken on the phone a few times. His mother contacted me to say that I am a ''sex offender'' and that she is calling the police. I have never said anything inappropriate to this child. We have a friendlly relationship that centers primarily around this game that we both play. Now that I have been told that his parents object, I will not communicate with this boy again, but in the meantime- have I done anything illeagal? I

Based on what you have described, the answer is no. Regardless, based on the parent's objections and societal inferences, ceasing all communications is the proper thing to do.
