Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My girlfriend is getting a divorce and her divorce lawyer just dropped her case beacuse her ex was dragging his feet and her lawyer got tired of waiting for the ex & his attorney to agree to an amicable settlement. She had already paid her attorney about 5K to get to where they were and can't afford the retainer fee for another divorce lawyer. Any suggestions or advice on how she should proceed?
