Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I have been married for 13 years We have 3 children together. I work 2 days a week and do not pay any of our bills. My husband handles all of our finances. We donot own a home but own a show car and a motorcycle, we also got back a large tax refund which he spent on his car! He works sub-contracted. I would like to put this marriage behind me.... My question is what am I entitled to besides child support? Does he have to maintain my life-style or at least help me get on my feet?

If you are awarded custody of your children, then yes you will be entitled to child support. With regards to the spousal support, then it is a good possibility as well. You are also entitled to equitable distribution of all marital assets, including the show car and the motor cycle. If he loves his cars so much, you may use that as a bargaining chip.
