Re: Marry my cousin

Truth is, applications for marriage licenses in most states do not require relationship or family tree affidavits. So, there is/ may not be anything stopping you from marrying your cousin, in most states; even your first cousin.

BUT, ..... Why would you want to?

You already have the "family ties" that bind; and you certainly DO NOT want to have children together.

As, You know, close relation (ie., first cousin) children run a high risk of severe medical problems. Not necessarily in the first level offspring.

Also, family gatherings, difficult enough, are likely to be a "hell fire" gatherings.

The expression "kiss'n cousins" should be enough for you; and is something families have traditionally been somewhat tolerant of, (albeit in a time when the marriage pool was more limited) provided no children are produced.

Do yourselves a favor. Leave it at "kiss'n cousins.
