Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Can I sue estranged husband for past due bill?

I have been seperated from my husband for almost 4 years. He had put a utility bill in my name (unknown to me) before we were married or living together. I recently found out I had to pay the $700 to the creditors as it went to collections, which I had to pay in full. He refuses to pay me back. Do I have a case to sue? How can I prove that it's not my bill? I could use that money for the divorce. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Can I sue estranged husband for past due bill?

It depends on the language in the separation agreement.
