Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Me and my boyfriend purchased a truck together, the loan and the title is in both of our names. But the registration and the insurance is in my name only. He has moved on and is giving me a very hard time to get my name out of the insurance for this vehicle, I do not want my name on this truck He has a DWI and should not be driving at all so thats why he cant get insurance, and refuses to give me my plates back. What is my legal right on this truck what can I do. Thank You

Who is driving the vehicle? Who has custody of it? Are you living together? What was your agreement regarding the ownership and operation of the vehicle in the first instance? How much did each contribute to the purchase price? How much is the car worth now? I gather you purchased the vehicle.

Tell him you are going to sue him for the value you contributed towards the purchase price less depriciation and will inform the police that he is driving without a license. Otherwise, you have to go to court and sue him for your share of equity in the vehicle if he does not agree to sell it for both your benefit.
