Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

My Grandmother was awarded "exclusive possession" of the marital residence during her divorce from her ex husband in 1977.She was to bear all costs from then on which she did. Her ex-husband sold the house in 1983 without her knowledge. She was then taken to court in 1985 because the new owner wanted her out. His eviction was denied due to her having the exclusive possession. She passed away in 2011. On the December 8,2012 A gentleman came to the door claiming to be an appraiser. He tells me he was sent by the homeowner and the homeowner wanted to know if I was renting or buying the property and that he needed to come in to take pictures. I didnt let him. I gave him my number to give to the owner to have him call me. Instead that Monday I get a call from his atty telling me that my family and I have to either leave the premises or purchase it from him. He has been harassing me ever since, telling me he's going to draw up eviction papers. This man has not paid any taxes nor satisfied the loan. If I have to leave I would atleast like the money that my grandmother put out on the taxes and homeowners insurance from 1983 until now.

Her rights lapsed upon her death. Her estate may have a lien for the expenses that were paid.
