Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

My house and the house next door share a walkway. We both have doors in that walkway to enter and exit our homes. The house next door installed outdoor surveillence cameras. One.camera is installed in the walkway and is pointed directly at my door so they will be able to see all my comings and goings. Is that legally considered and invasion of my privacy and can they be required to take it down?

You have no right of privacy in public places inclusive of your sidewalk. You may ask your neighbor nicely to limit the camera angle to their front door. Rest assured, their camera may actually enhance your security and peace of mind for if someone tries to break in to your house, a video surveillance tape exists.
