Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Who's responsible for 23 year old son

My son and I do not see eye to eye to say the least. He still lives in our home. I have no idea if he has car insurance. I do not pay for any other insurance for him. I have told my car insurance co. that my wife and I are the only drivers.

I wouldn't never allow him to drive our cars.

So if he does have an accident with his uninsured car will I be responsible?

What if someone sues him or he's arrested. As well as he's hospitalized. Who will pay?

In New York he is an adult and emancipated. You are not responsible for his debts. Make sure. Post a legal notice in your local papers that you are not responsible for his debts. keep copies of the ad that runs.
