Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Where to send summons

I am exploring the idea of suing a national company for breach of contract. The company has a store in Richmond County, NY where the breach occurred. I am trying to figure out where it is best to send the summons. I know I must have the business's legal name.

What I would like to know is if I should use the address of the store where the injury took place, the DOS Process address or Registered Agent address listed on the NYS Division of Corporations page where I found the companys legal name?

Re: Where to send summons

Do yourself a favor, go get yourself a lawyer. What you are trying to do is no less complicated than performing surgery on yourself. If you can't get past the simple act of service, how are going to conduct discovery, oppose motions and possibly go to trial.

If you've spoken to attorneys already and none want to take your matter on, there's probably a good reason.

If you wish to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact me.
