Long Story

On 4- 2-04 My cousin came to my home to visit overnight, Her livein boyfriend called to say there had been a fire caused by a candle, there was alot of damage to the house and they could not live there until 4-23, The landlord had people come in and repair the things. in the process the repair people damaged a floor that the landlord is going after tenants and refusing security deposit for aprils rent. They also had been out of lease for about 4 months. there was no renters ins. The landlord has also said he will be using the deposit for homeowners ins deductable.

You haven't asked a question. If you are asking whether the landlord can withhold the security...yes, if the fire was caused by tenant's negligence (candle).
