Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

can i have my sister's boyfriend barred from coop?

My sister & I each own a coop apt in same building. Her boyfriend harrasses me, mostly unintentionally, nevertheless it's real and annoying. He doesn't seem to understand my needs and costs me money and tips to override his presence. I can't afford trying to overpower him. He doesn't look out for or respect my needs at all. Can I have him evicted from the building? I own more shares in the building than my sister. Don't I have more rights then?

Re: can i have my sister's boyfriend barred from coop?

You can only have him evicted if he occupies property that you actually own. Is he living in your space or your sister's? Would she not agree to the eviction? This area of law is our specialty, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.
