Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New York

Breach of doctor patient confidentiality

Several years ago I worked for our local school district. I had became ill and went on a paid extended sick leave. After I returned to work I realized I still needed a bit more time as I had not fully recovered. The policy at work was you could not get paid sick leave again for the same illness. I told the supervisor that the illness was not related to my previous leave. He told me that he knew that was not true because my doctor was a good friend of his and they had discussed my situation. I had children in that school district at the time and was afraid to start trouble. My children have graduated now. I'm not worried about going public with this. I would like to know if I have any recourse concerning this breach of confidentiality. Thank you for your help.
