Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York

neglegance

i recently attended the hospital for shortness of breath . i was left unattended for about 25 minutes before i was seen by a doctor. i clarified what was wrong with me, and the doctor, when finally assesing my problem said nothing was wrong laughed and walked away. i said several times i still had problems and nothing was done . i began to black out and yet again nothing was done . to make a long story short i was finally diagnosed with stress and panic attacks .when told this though i was humiliated in front of a full emergency room and other nurses with a sarcastic remark,''are you sure your name is not christina'' .implying the fact that i was a freak and everyone began to laugh. i would like to know if i can do anything about me being (a)-unattended to , and (b)- insulted and abused and humiliated ?

Re: neglegance

Unfortunatly, it appears from a practical point of view that the best you csan do in this case is make a complaint to the New York State Department of Health, which entity regulates hospitals. Register your complaint about the professional "misconduct" of the institutional staff.

Good Luck
