Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

This past weekend, a lady came by my house, explaining she is capturing stray & abandoned male cats in our town to get them fixed. She asked if we had any cats and I showed her our three cats so that she would know they were our pets. On Tuesday, I got a phone call from her saying she caught a black cat and fixed it and wanted to know if my cat was home. After looking, my cat was missing. I called her telling her I wanted to come see the cat to see if it was mine. It was, she fixed him, had three shots administered and had blood drawn from him with out my permission. I was so upset.... I can't believe this is leagal, do I have any right to a law suit?

If your cat was outside without a collar and tag, it is considered a stray and subject to being trapped and/or sent to pound.

If you allow your cats outside without being fixed or having shots, you are acting as a negligent pet owner.

This woman is doing a service to both the public and cat population by having the strays fixed, blood checked for feline leukemia (highly contagious and fatal) and vaccinated for rabies.

This is hard, thankless work and takes a unique person to be willing to do it. I am sure a donation would be greatly appreciated.
