Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Does my family have any recourse against Chase Manhattan Bank ?

My Uncle (father's brother) passed away 7/6/99 in NYC, NY and left his estate to be executed by Chase Manhattan Bank. His will specifically stated that he be cremated, however Chase left him in the City Morge and finally the City disposed of him and buried him we believe in a paupers grave 12/30/99. Later through a chain of events (we have docs) we approached Chase on the issue of them not following P1 Page 1 of the will re: cremation. They denied it. It was only after I called them and threatened them did they in fact exhume his body and have his (partial) remains cremated on 4/14/00 (we have a letter from the funeral home). My Uncle left his money to charity. When I contacted the Charity (Catholic Arch. of NY) on 6/13/00 they said they had no idea and were not notified by Chase that they in fact were the beneficiaries.
