Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

I fell flat on front body over an exposded iced pipe piece position in front of the store, The store owner/manager came outside and picked me up. Once inside the store I wrote a description of what happened, I signed and he signed. I left went home and was shortly thereafter taken to the hospital by ambulance. Diagnosed with bruised ribs-a contusion.
