Lawyers percentage

Hello Lawguru I became a

diabetic from taking a medication called zyprexa my problem is that I'm involved in a class action lawsuit and a settlement has been reached, and I would like to know how much of a percent is a lawyer entitled to.To make a long story short, I won a $150,000.00 settlement and I would like to know what amount is the lawyer representing me is supposed to get from me.

You will have to refer to your retainer agreement. That's the only way to answer your question. If you let us know what the retainer says, then somebody can help interpret it.

Is the $150,000 settlement for the class? If you retained the attorney, his percentage as a fee should be written into the retainer agreement. If not, his percentage may be in the class settlement documents.
