Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Time frame of personal injury law suit
Ten years ago, I was involved in a minor traffic accident and I was DUI. The criminal aspect ended then. The person driving the car I hit has had a personal injury law suit against me. He was not injured, the police said that and the accident was very minor. My insurance company has represented me through out. I gave deposition in 1998. I received a notice in 2001, that it was going to trial, and have heard nothing since. I admitted my faults at deposition.I am now an adult with some assets. How long can this continue for and do I have anything I should be concerned about re:civil matter
