Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My apartment complex sent memo saying if you sign lease for next year a month before current lease is up we get same price per month . But when I told I was leaving they said I had to give them 60 day notice and I owe late fee

The offer of early renewal has nothing to do with your obligations under the current lease. If the lease requires a 60 days notice, you have to comply with it. If the complex charges a late fee, if it is valid under the law, it can be charged.
