Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

My ex girlfriend an I had gotten a dog together. We broke up 3 years ago, and up until now, we've had an agreement that I could see the dog every so often, and its been fine. Now though, she is threatening to not let me see him anymore. What rights and or recourses, if any, do I have here? Thanks

Although the pooch has emotional value, the question is who paid for the dog? If the ex paid for the dog, and has possession of the dog, there is little you can do.
