Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Judgement on House

My husband just received a judgement against him. We are trying to sell our home but now I am told that we will be unable to do so because of this judgement- is that possible? Thank you.

Re: Judgement on House

Your attorney will get a pay-off for the judgment. When you sell the house the title company will confirm the pay-off number, will collect money from the sale of the house, and will use that money to pay the judgment.

Re: Judgment on House

That is not exactly accurrate. The judgment will be paid off from the proceeds of the sale. Of course you may sell the house.

Good Luck
