Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

live in boyfriend

My boyfriend has been staying in my apartment for over a year. i want him out he doesn't pay any bills nor is his name on the lease he refuses to leave stating that the law is on his side because he has lived there for 1 year. He has even taken out a state ID with my address.. I really want him out how do i go about that.. were not married he is just an ex-boyfriend..

If he does not leave voluntarily you may have no alternative but to file an eviction proceeding with your local housing court.
