Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Hi my Mom who is elderly put my name on the deed to her home so there would be no problems later, since she did that she was no longer eligable for senior discounts to her property taxes. We did take out a mortgage so that she could fix the house up and we are both listed on that, what I am wondering is I read about "transfer with retained life estate" and wanted to know if we could do something like this so that she would again be eligable for the property tax break? Is there any other way to get that senior discount back?

You could file a corrected deed, retaining a life estate for your mom. Contact a real estate attorney or even a title company to assist you with this.
