Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

painting of an outside structure on my property

my son wanted to practice painting graffitti, so we allowed him to paint our barn. It is an ongoing process. one of our neighbors has complained to us that this is ''not the south bronx'', yet there are a number of trees and an easement that passes between the barn and his house. No doubt when we decide to sell or the artistic side of my son moves elsewhere, the barn will be restored to barn red. We have 3 acres of property in Brewster and I do not understand why this is of any concern to the neighbor.

Re: painting of an outside structure on my property

Your neighbor is concerned because they don't want to feel like they live in the south bronx and are right now wishing they had a home owners association, but they don't so they have to put up with what you do on your property. Born free in the USA.

I agree with David. Do what you want, there is no nuisance here.

Do what you will....look how long the eyesore existed on 312 at the MNRR train tracks; and there the use was NOT permitted. There seem to be no restrictions on your use.

Good Luck
