Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Probate

My husband's father passed away and his will named my husband's sister and step-sister as executor and the remaining four brothers would have an interest only if the house was sold. Recently the step-mother sold the home and moved from long island NY to North Carolina. How was she able to sell the home without the children listed in the will signing off on the sale contract or agreeing to be bought out?

Re: Probate

Are you sure the house was solely in his name and not in Joint Title (JTWRS) with step-mother?

If it wasn't, all that is needed to sell the house would be the Executor's signature on the contract/Deed.

I suggest you bring all docs to an attorney before any monies that may belong to your husband and brother's is gone.
