Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I have a complaint against a real estate agent who sold my deceased brother's house.The she put the house up for $14,900,which I thought was too low. She got an offer of $10,000 and I said that was too low. She wanted me to take the offer. She talked about all the work that needed to be done. Such as new driveway,new roof,new kitchen,painting,& on & on. We left the stove,refrigerator,washer & dryer to go with the house. It did not need much work. I gave an offer of $13,000. She called back with an offer of $12,ooo. Still trying to convinence me that I should take the offer because I would not get any more. Finally I gave in and said ok. About 6 weeks later the house was sold again for $54,900. I feel like I have been ripped off. I feel that the commission should go back to the estate plus the difference between the $12,000 and $54,900. What are my options as to what to do?

You first step would be to make a complaint to the NYS Department of State, This entity licenses real estate professionals. If the person is a Realtor, complaint to the NYS Association of REALTORS.
See what happens there. Litigation by you might follow depending on the result.

It sounds like what happened was a "flip" and the broker's failure to properly disclose that the your "purchaser" was actually a "stand in" for the broker.
You probably could have avoided this problem if you had consulted an attorney, in advance of signing with the broker and Obtained an appraisel of the property upon your brother's death.
You may have a case; but you may have already signed your rights away. Which is often the case in these kind of cases.
