Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Removing a name from a mortgate

I am the principal mortgage holder on a mortgage re-financed this year. The house was originally purchased several years ago by my same-sex partner and we re-fi'd this year with me as the primary holder. We are separating and she does not want to sell the house. What options do I have to remove my name from the mortgage? Thank you.

Re: Removing a name from a mortgate

You would have to refinance the house and deed the house to your ex-partner in consideration of receipt of a percentage of the equity while joint owners.
