Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
If I sign as guarantor when my brother rents an apartment in New York City, 1) Does it show up on my credit report, and 2) Is my wife also on the hook if my brother is unable to pay his rent or is the responsibility completely mine?

1) Not until your brother fails to pay his rent AND you fail to make payment when called upon.
2) Not unless she signs something.
