How to stop a 7 story condo being built

What is the maximum height you can build in a :

R6 zone?

R5B zone?

in brooklyn ny

A permit has been approved for a 7fl condo on my 1 & 2 family residential block in brooklyn. (R6 Zone)

How can I prevent this?

I cant afford thousands to hire a lawyer.

These are questions an attorney would hire an expert to address in order to oppose the condo. As the permit has been approved you would probably have to find another way to counter it than opposing the height. I would talk to your council person's and state senator's office regarding your concerns.
