Tenants Rights

we were informed by our landlord that she is selling the house we are in, and we have

to move. we have until 3/31. we have not found anything yet as we have 8 people in

our family.. what do we do if we don't have a place by 3/31???? we are also

actively looking to purchase...

If you have a lease you have until the end of the lease if the house you are in is a one to five-family dwelling. If you don't have a lease you must leave, but it takes a while for the landlord to enforce her right to evict you. SHe must give you 30 days written notice and if you don't leave by the end of the 30 days, she can start a Holdover proceeding in court and the jusdge will give you at least three months, sometimes up to six. You have to leave anyway and you don't want to deal with her anyway, so start looking! Good luck.
