Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

1111 d Not stopping at red light as a tourist on a hired car

I had received a letter from the company who i hired the car from claiming that the car I'm driving was caught on a traffic camera when i crossed on red. I was on two weeks visit in the New York i hired the car when i was on the uk on my uk driving license, if i didn't respond or refused to pay is that will affect me in the UK or will even affect me if i visit again, as the car was hired and the offence is not on my name?

The company claimed that they had paid the ticket and want me to reimburse them.
