Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Disobeyed Traffic Control Device ticket

I was lost on a side street in Nassau County and missed my turn. I made a U-turn and apparently there was a no u-turn sign. The officer gave me a ticket for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.

Unfortunately, I have had a very bad month with driving. I was convicted for a very bad ticket on Rt. 95 in the Bronx and received 8 pts on my license. Then, last week I was pulled over for speeding on the service rd for rt 495 which I am going to plead not guilty to.

My question is, how many points is Disobeying a Traffic Control Device? Is it possible to get this knocked down to a non-moving violation or a no-point violation in court? I understand I am very close to losing my license, but I will be devastated if I do. I need my car for work. So any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Disobeyed Traffic Control Device ticket

How many points is Disobeying a Traffic Control Device? 2 points

Is it possible to get this knocked down to a non-moving violation or a no-point violation in court? Yes, we appear at this court all the time and we are confident we can get your case reduced to a 0-point ticket.

I understand I am very close to losing my license, but I will be devastated if I do. We recommend that you take the Driver Safety class. It will take 4 points off your record and save you 10% on your auto insurance.

Feel free to call or email us if you would like us to help you with either (or both) of these matters. We are sure you will value our services and we believe that we can save your license.

Thanks
